The Bacon today have announced their new team president, Brandon Raphael.
Raphael is a St. Louis native where he attended Maryville University and played baseball. He is a big St. Louis Cardinals fan and his all-time favorite player is Ozzie Smith.
In fact, he took part in the Little League World Series in Tokyo, Japan when he was 13 years old.
“I’m looking forward to combining my lifelong love of baseball with the opportunity to help take the Macon Bacon to new heights,” said Raphael. “I expect us to build on the first year and make the Bacon an integral part of the middle Georgia landscape.”
Before joining the Bacon, Raphael was at the University of Texas – San Antonio as the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development and Ticket Sales for six years. He first linked up with Steve DeLay and Jon Spoelstra with Mandalay Baseball Property team’s: Las Vegas 51s and Frisco RoughRiders.
“I’ve known Brandon since he started his career. His energy, enthusiasm and leadership will be a tremendous asset to the organization and help us continue to grow and improve,” said DeLay. “We’re looking forward to even greater success and fan engagement in our second year here in Macon.”
Raphael is married to his wife Kimberly, and has two kids: Caden (10) and Brooklyn (8).
