Cash Young (Georgia College) hit a grand slam over the left-center wall in the 3rd inning, one of four Macon home runs on the night as the Bacon rolled to a 13-9 win over the visiting Lexington County Blowfish on Thursday evening at Luther Williams Field.
Robert Brooks (Columbus State), Carson Crowe (Jacksonville State), and Jake Gitter (Northern Colorado) also smashed home runs for the Bacon.
Braden Scott (Indiana) earned the win on the mound, throwing two innings while giving up just one earned run with four strikeouts.
Macon has now won all four of their matchups against Lexington County and sits atop the Southern Summer Ball Series standings with a 7-5 league record.
Crowe ended his night with a sparkling 4-for-5 line, driving in four runs including his two-run shot in the 1st inning. Austin Deming (BYU) tallied three hits while driving in two for Bacon, getting a triple and two doubles to help power a Bacon offense that has now scored 29 runs in their last three games.
Jack Sinclair (UCF) struck out the side in the 9th inning to clinch the Bacon win.
Macon will split their squad on Friday night, with half the team going on the road to Savannah while the other half takes on Catawba Valley at home. First pitch for both games will be at 7:00pm.
