The Gastonia Grizzlies rebounded offensively Tuesday night with an onslaught of runs, 15-4.
One night after Ryan Kouba quieted the top offensive team in the league, Josh Farmer was not so lucky. The Grizzlies knocked around Farmer for seven runs, five earned, across four innings.
Relievers did not fare much better versus the Grizzlies. Six pitchers combined to allow another eight runs, leading to a season high 15 runs allowed.
The Bacon started the night off with a bang. CPL All-Star Jared Miller homered off of Grayson Hickert in the bottom of the first. Miller’s second longball in as many days put the Bacon up 1-0.
The Bacon did not lead after the second, when three runs scored for Gastonia. Gastonia put up five more in the fifth on their way to 15 runs, a Grizzlies season best.
The Bacon return home on Friday to play Lexington County on Bark at the Park Night. They fell to third in the CPL standings at 15-8.
